Dvd burner help!

I have a HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4040B LG DVD wrighter and when i go to burn onto a dvd it will stop in the middle and just stop responding i dont know why it is internal and i have not seen or recieved any warnings someone HELP me!!!
