DVD audio crackly skipping

Hi all of a sudden when i play a dvd in my computer its very crackly sound and it skips very badly, last week it worked fine. I cant recall anything i changed that would make it do this...all other music and video files play fine its just DVDS...any help would be appreciated..thanks

Reinstall the dvd codecs.
a combo drive uses both cd codecs and dvd codecs...The dvd codecs have corrupted. I would also clean the player as sometimes the player is dirty and will read cd's but not dvd's
