I need to free up some disk space on one of my systems.
I know that there are hundreds of duplicate files, especially jpgs on the system.
I have seen various "Duplicate File Deletion" utilities on the web, but I was hoping that some of the experts here could suggest one over another.
You know, things like ease of use, ability to specify file types, safety features to protect users from deleting system files, etc.
Any thoughts?

Try www.download.com. they have tons of File handling Utilities.
This approach will likely not free-up enough space to be worth the effort. Do you know the difference between necessary Duplicates and just plain Duplicates?
What is the size Of current HDD? Have you considered adding another? Or,copying Data files,Music, pictures to CD/DVD.
There is nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.

So does XP SP2 Support Tools (dupfinder.exe)

I just tried this tool. While it does indeed find duplicate files, it appears to lack one very important feature:
You can't open the files from the list of duplicate files.
When it finds 3 copies of DCN00188.JPG in 3 different folders, I can't just double-click (or right-click) the files and open them to see if they are the same. I have to browse to each folder, find the file and open it from there.
That is going to take just a bit less than forever. ;-)

H-m-m..
I think Clone Remover is that you're looking for. Real cool app, very fast, easy to use, can specify duplicate file types, has safety features to protect from removing system files, has convinient "face". Recommend.
