Everything started when my customer called me saying that something very strange had happened with the computer. the screen disappeared and of the nothing it appeared a blue screen of death. Well, when vi the occurrence, I thought to be about joking virus. screen disappeared more and all. I started finishing processes suspicious SAVEDUMP.EXE; USERINIT.PIF; DUMPPREP.exe There it is that the problem started. All time that inicializava the Norton antivirus 2002 computer stopped and appeared the blue screen of death with the messages of STOP of Bad-pool_cal, MANANGER_MEMORY and some times nor appeared nothing. It was then that I zeroed the HD to try to decide and one more time nothing. I formatted the HD physically to delete the MBR and to clean the HD of any thing. One more time without positive result. It was then that today, sunday day 15 of September of 2002 I observed all the processes and the MSCONFIG and perceived that SAVEDUMP.exe DUMPREP.exe was archives of the Windows system (Please confirm this information). I excluded everything what it had of DUMP of the computer and exactly thus did not function. I took off screenshots so that somebody helps me. I find that now it is a BIOS virus. I know that everything this could be decided with the weekly update of the Norton, but unhappyly my customer found that she had brought up to date, but in the truth it lowered all the updates but SHE DID NOT INSTALL the definitions and the definitions were with date of the period that I installed the NORTON in the computer of it. I tried to install the definition most recent but always it stopped, from there he was that comeįei since the zeramento of the computer and from there pra front.
