Dual processor and RAID question

This was probably covered somewhere before, but, I'm lazy and don't feel like searching the forum...so...

I just got a new motherboard and dual PIII/1 gig processors for Christmas, and I've got everything up and running A-OK. I guess. I checked the Hardware Properties (right-clicking "My Computer" then clicking on Hardware tab), and it's only showing the processors running at 998mHz. But, the device manager recognizes both processors fine. Does XP support dual processing? And are these readings correct?

Also, not really XP related, but maybe...this motherboard supports RAID drives. I'm a newbie to RAID, so how do I go about setting this up? Yes, I know to get an identical HDD to the one that's in there now...then what?

Thanks in advance.

Frank

BTW, the motherboard is an Abit VP6, in case that's needed info.

I've got a VP6 with two 933mhz processors in it. I've tweaked them a bit and XP shows 1.02Ghz which is about 100khz down on my actuall settings! I've got no idea where XP gets the information but would guess yours fits in with this.

XP Professional and Corporate versions are dual processor compliant but the Home version isn't.

I am not sure what you mean by your motherboard supports RAID. Do you have an onboard RAID controller? If so then hook the cables from your hard drives to it instead of the IDE controller. Change your first boot device to be RAID instead of the IDE and the RAID bios should let you choose what type of RAID that you want to set up.

XP pro does support multiple procs also
