Dual os printer problems

Printer will not operate in Win98 for some reason..Have re-installed and still the same. Error message says (not connected or plugged in) yet print OK in XP .Printer shows OK in both control panel and drivers are OK'd ..Any ideas people !

do you try to print in a dos software ? if so you will need the net use lpt1 \\server\printer_name
r u priters on a network or local if network be sure to have the 98 network driver .. ummm

Re dual os printer problems..My thanks to all that replied..Someone suggested that I re-install printer with the printer switched off and that did the trick as I had previously installed again with printer ON..Once again guys and gals thanks for the throput...jimari
