dual booting XP & Linux Mint 8 lxde

Specs: Windows XP, amd athlon/ddr 2
I was using win xp os,then I installed linux mint 8 lxde(helena).at that time I could run two os.
but my pc encountered some virus problems . so I reinstalled my xp. after of it only xp boots. I can't boot linux.what will I do to make the menu to select both os?

Did you have Mint installed within Windows as a program? Or did you have it installed on a separate partition or separate HDD?

I suggest you download Mint 9 & install it from within Windows. The boot menu will be setup automatically. Then you can delete the older version 8.
