Dual booting Options at startup

Specs: Windows XP
I recently re-install windows xp in my pc which has 256 RAM & celeron pro. In installation process I formated the C drive. But now while booting computer the startup screen stops and asks us to select OS (both are Win xp 2). Why it asks at the startup? was my installation wrong? Or anything wrong with the PC?? Pls help me....

How many drive letters are showing as 'Local Disk' in the 'My Computer' window?

It may be that you re-installed xp on to a separate partition so your first installation is still on the disk. That's why Windows is asking you to select one of them to boot from.
