ok here's the deal,
I've already installed windows XP on a FAT32 partition on a single (20GB) hard drive, it works fine.
Could I install windows 98SE on the same hard drive, but a different partition and make it dual boot with XP without overwriting/messing-up any boot info needed by XP?
I only want to do this because XP won't let me install some older apps I need like Acad2000 and Visual Studio 98
Has anyone done this succesfully, without re-installing XP, if so, how?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, TIA

The only way to do it without losing data or having to reformat is to use a third party partitioning software such as Powerquest Partition Magic to create partition/s from within windows. If you already have an extra partition, you can install WinMe to it and then use Partition magic's Boot magic to setup a boot manager which will allow you to choosew which OS to boot into at startup.

yeah I did it, you can install ME (i don't know about 98SE but it could work) after you installed XP i have it installed on the same HD but different partitions. No problems incountered.

What about if you already had ME installed on one harddisk. Then you install XP on a second... the XP is the default boot disk... is it still possible to make a dualboot with XP and ME?
This is my situation:
1. harddisk with 3 partitions, xp on partition 1 (c:)
2. harddisk with 1 partition, me on partition 1 (g:)
How would my boot.ini look like, and do I have to do other type of configuration?
Thanks!:)
