Hi everyone,
I had the dual boot of win xp and win server 2003 without any problems. But when i re-installed win xp in the partition C, it overwrote the MBR so i can only boot with win xp but not win server 2k3.
I edited the file boot.ini, so now it is like:
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(4)\WINDOWS="Windows Server 2003, Enterprise" /fastdetect

At the boot screen, i can choose 2 options to boot as normal. It works fine with win xp, but if i choose win server 2003, it will restart my computer. So i can not boot in win 2k3.
Please suggest me any ideas to fix this. Thanks a lot.

Boot the WinS2k3 disk and go into the recovery console. Once there type in "fixmbr" followed by "fixboot". Restart and both options should work.

Instead of doing as you said, I repaired my windows server 2003. Although it took me much longer time, it works. Anyway, thanks for ur suggestion, Sandman.
