Comment:

I recently received a new IBM T41 for work with XP Professional and can not connect to DSL via wireless(NetGear and Belkin) or by direct connect to the DSL Modem (VisionNet 200ES/ER). I am able to connect with my T30 with XP Professional both on direct connect and wireless, also with a desktop with WIN98. When I go into Network Connections - Status - I see packets SENT but none RECEIVED. I have tried many things - matching the network properties to my T30, deleting Hotfix Q8145 (can't rememeber complete number). Help - nothing is working.

This means:

You don't have access to the network (no permission to talk). Of course you can see the packets.

Check your settings and make sure your set up correctly.

Post in NETWORKING rather than XP please.
