DSL Slows down-boost-slows again

Hi, my DSL connection is very strange. When I download, it starts at medium speed then get down 10k by 10k till it gets to 2-3 kbps. Sometimes im at full speed for about 5 minutes, but it slows down again. It's very frustrating. I cant even resume files (maybe thats another problem). From FTP to HTTP I always get this problem. Do I need to format ? cauz it wasnt like that before. Or maybe there's a fix. Thank's alot for ur help. - Cougar

Does this occur at all websites, or just a certain one? Personally, I think it's the server you're downloading from, not your computer.
As for resuming, get a program called "GetRight", which allows for resuming of broken downloads. It's a really good program.

yeha, see if your dling from a 56k user then he only can upload which is give info to you at 56k. then you only can dl at a 56k level not at dsl speed because he cant over upload his limits. understand?

Run a test from a dedicated pipeline and that is your speed...period. Like from here for example- Dedicated test server
