now i've had this problem for about a week, and i don't know where it came. what i also don't know is how to remove it. every single time i browse my folders, this problem comes up. after browsing about ten minutes, my computer comes up with two errors:
"Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close."
"DrWatson Postmortem Debugger has encountered a problem and needs to close."

now i've heard that the DrWatson was made for reporting software bugs to Windows XP. what i've also heard is that the AceBot Trojan uses the program as a mask. this really annoys me, and i wouldn't want to get fatal errors in my system. i have no idea how to start a computer in safe mode, and i'm hoping someone would give me DETAILED instructions on how to remove that problem. it also does it whilst downloading files from the internet.

ps. how can i backup my files so if my system gets a fatal error, my files would still remain?

The first thing to try to repair this issue is to make sure that you have no bugs causing it. Run your anti-virus and anti spyware/malware and make sure that your system is clean from any of those bugs.

I would also use a registry cleaner to clean up the registry...Ccleaner will be sufficient for that so google for it.

The next thing...you will need to run a system file check. In order to do this you need to have on hand an original Microsoft installation disc for your operating system. A manufacturers restore CD will not work.

start > run and type the following:

SFC /scannow

press enter and when prompted insert the M$ CD. This will restore the system files back to their original condition and hopefully fix the issue.

If it doesn't then you need to perform a system repair. This can be performed with your restore CD but you need to make sure that all your files are backed up...The best way to back up your files is to use a back up program from a third party and back them up to a specially created partition or a seperate harddrive or even burn them to CD.
Then follow the instructions from your manufacturer as to how to perform the repair or restore if you need to go that far.

To enter safe mode...reboot your computer and start toggling the F8 key until you get to the start page which is were safemode configuration is. If your system tries to restart windows then you need to reboot again and try to get the startpage...

You can back up your files to CD and then after the restore reinstall by the drag and drop method!
