I have encountered a problem last Feb. 24,2005 with my Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop. When I try to open the Windows Explorer, My Computer or Control Panel a window pop-up shows: "DrWatson Postmortem Debugger has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." When I click the "Close" button, my computer immediately hangs or freezes. I cannot access the Windows Explorer, My Computer, Control Panel files. What can I do to suppress this problem.
The last time I have installed a software was last Dec. 2004 when I intalled the software for the Creative Webcam. I have not installed any software since then. I have also downloaded the beta version of the Microsoft AntiSpyware last Nov. 2004.
I hope that you can help me in this regard because I cannot gain access to my Windows Explorer. Thank you for your kind assistance.
This may help. If you have trouble with sp2 after installing boot to the safe mode and go to the boot.ini file in C: drive, Open properties and uncheck the read only box. Then open the file with notepad. Look for /noexecute=optin. Change it to /noexecute=AlwaysOff. This has worked for me as drwtsn.exe file has stopped the loading at the desktop
