hello, my internet connection seems to have slowed down and actually drops from time to time,i have to reopen explorer a few times to connect again. i sometimes disconnect the router and connect it to my xbox to play online games and dropped connections boots me from games. im fairly sure i have a virus on my pc,but can a virus be stored on the router after i dissconnect from the pc? any idea how i can fix this and stop the dropped connections. thank you.

Viruses aren't magical. So many people have viruses and people start thinking viruses can do anything. But they can't do everything! I do not think a virus can be "stored" in your router. After all, your router is hardware, a physical and tangible piece of metal and plastic and other materials. As for the webserver in your router, I highly doubt it. That router webserver is only accessible but almost impossible to modify, unless your doing firmware upgrades or something. And even if you're doing firmware upgrades, I don't know if that can change your router webserver. So when you say "stored in router", it cannot modify your router web pages, so NO. I don't think you have a virus. If you use Comcast, your assigned IP Address (which is fairly hard to change comparing to other ISPs) seems to "degrade" after a period of time and gets slower and slower. I suggest you change your IP address.
