Drives C, D, and G

Do we really need to have the hard drie partitioned like this?
I would like to get rid of drives D and G and just use C. Can I do it and if sow how?

Yes you can do it but you would need to reinstall from scratch or buy a product like Partition magic and merge the partitions.

Partition Magic 8 will do the job of merging your drives. You'd be wise to move any and all files/applications from the other partitions to the C Drive first though.
My personal opinion is to keep the partition/s and save all your personal files etc to one of those partitions.
Having only the C drive can be a curse if for some reason the system crashes you stand to lose all your data.
Lessons learnt the hard way are not easily forgotten.

I agree completely that having just one big partition is unwise. WHEN, not if, your operating system give you trouble, you can reinstall XP (or whatever you system is) without disturbing your saved files.
I actually have a complete separate hard drive for that, but I STILL have a separate partition on the "C" drive for saving things like backup images.

I will also add my two cents to encourage you to keep things the way they are.
If you are running out of space on the C: drive, you should be installing all (or most) of your new software on one of the other drives.
