I keep having the computer crash on me / freeze up. What happens is i'll be typing something or trying to do anything and everything just freezes, then a few seconds later my monitor clicks off as if the computer isn't on anymore and i'm forced to reboot it to get it working again. I talked with my cousin to narrow down the issue and we believe we narrowed it down to a driver being corrupted or just being wrong. I built the computer myself, and am using XP 64bit at the moment for the OS. When I go into my control panel then admin tools then event viewer under system error records I get this.

\??\C:\WINDOWS\SysWow64\drivers\tmcomm.sys has been blocked from loading due to incompatibility with this system. Please contact your software vendor for a compatible version of the driver.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/even...

The error type says application popup. Right after that error I get this...

The machine-default permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{555F3418-D99E-4E51-800A-6E89CFD8B1D7}
to the user NT AUTHORITY\LOCAL SERVICE SID (S-1-5-19). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at

under source it says DCOM then I get the same type of error directly after that same source that says

The machine-default permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{555F3418-D99E-4E51-800A-6E89CFD8B1D7}
to the user NT AUTHORITY\LOCAL SERVICE SID (S-1-5-19). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at

Then the last error that shows up is...

The tmcomm service failed to start due to the following error:
This driver has been blocked from loading

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/even...

Under source it says "Service control manager"

What my cousin thinks is that there is an issue with the C:\WINDOWS\SysWow64\drivers\tmcomm.sys thinking the driver isn't working with xp 64 which is causing the crashes. I'm not sure if thats it or not but every time I look at the event viewer these are the 4 errors that show up every time my computer crashes/freezes. Since it's happening more and more I figured I would see if anyone has any idea's on how to fix this because it's getting annoying with it crashing so often. It seems to be a software issue but I haven't ruled out that it might be a hardware problem also, so i'm not sure. If anyone has any idea's let me know, please and thank you =).

I have googled & it finds only 1 other problem.

SysWow64\drivers\tmcomm.sys

Maybe if you have an event id number & put it into google.

Another way.
You may get more info from minidumps. Make sure it is Enabled.
Control Panel --> System --> Advanced --> Startup and Recovery --> Settings ---> Write debugging
information --> Complete memory dump.
On XP and 2003 systems, mini dumps are located at %SystemRoot%\Minidump, or c:\Windows\Minidump; kernel and full dumps are located at %SystemRoot%\MEMORY.DMP or c:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP.
