Since upgrading to Windows XP, I can't seem to print anything on my KX-P6500 anymore. The Panasonic website only has the Win 3x/95 driver, and Win XP didn't like it. My printer apparently doesn't like the driver that came with Win XP, so there it sits. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have this same problem;
--------------------------
Panasonic has drivers for every operating system except Windows Xp :((((WIn Xp has his own drivers-but they doesn't work correctly;
drivers for other systems too (95/98/ME/NT/2000); I've been looking everywere but i can't find anything;
mabye somone has found sth on producent page? (i'm not speaking about Panasonic ofcourse - it's only mark of this product);nedeed help...
thx.

Anyone tried for win2000. Maby this link:

M.A.P.

I have resolved all of my problems with the drivers for my KX-P6100 and found out a few things along the way.
I guess your particular resolution depends on exactly what problems you are having.
My problem was twofold. Firstly I was trying to use the drivers that came on the disk with the printer. Whilst they loaded OK my machine would crash every time I tried to print.
I then went to the panasonic site and loaded the win2000 drivers and things changed. I could print out of any application eccept Word for Windows 97. When I printed from word I got a general exception error and had to get out of Word. In the pre-XP days the computer would have crashed.
I then found on an old PC magazine CD three patches (well one utility and two patches) for Microsoft Office97. When I loaded them up everything came ok.
A problem that occurred along the way was that I could not completely remove the old drivers from my computer and that affected the loading of new KX-P6100 drivers. Anyhow someone along the track pointed me to the Panasonic CANADA site where I found KX-P6100 drivers which had an effective uninstall tool.
If you require further assistance or the exact URL's or the patches give me a yell and I can provide you with them.

I had my girlfriend email Panasonic Canada about this problem - figured they were more apt to respond to a girl...
This is the response I got:
> Windows XP has the KX-P6500 PCL mode driver built into it
> and this driver only support up 300 dot per inch (300 dpi) only. Our
> engineers are working the GDI driver for this printer. As soon as the
driver
> is available and it will posted on our web site.

Not exactly the answer I was looking for but better than the windows 3.x/95 drivers the USA site is offering - they wouldn't even work with win 98!

I too need an XP driver for a 6500. I guess one possibility would be for all driverless 6500 owners to email Panachronic en-masse to let them know that it's CUSTOMERS (well past ones anyway!) need some help.
It's worth remembering how Painosonic respond when you're thinking about buying a replacement printer sometime in the future, there are lots of alternative manufacturers out there who might be more responsive and actually have thought ahead, i.e. "there might be some of our customers who use our printers who will upgrade to XP, why don't we have the drivers ready and available?"My email from the UK has already been sent
Consumer power, don't you just love it!
Happy Printing (well, eventually!)
Steve
