Subject: driver for s3trio 3d/2xOS: winxp home editionCPU/Ram: Pentium III 500 mhz,128 m |
Comment: I'm installing Winxp home edition on my Pentium III 500 mhz 128 mb ram with s3trio 3d/2x 8mb video card with an ease.On its first boot after the installation the system detected the video card and ask for a driver. The add new hardware wizard did not detect any and the pc reboot afterward.I try to download the said driver and load it but the software is not compatible with the current OS.If i start the pc in vga mode the pc runs fine at first but if the video card detected and ask for driver again, its go back to the problem. Can we disable the auto-detection of the OS or is there any software xp compatible with my video card.If there is somebody out there own the driver pls send it to me i really need it badly.Any suggestion or complement is highly appreciated...THANKS

Reply: (edit)Hi there, Firstly, I think you need to put more ram in your machine as 128mb is barely enough to run your system. Secondly, your video card is way old and I think you should update it to one that XP will recognise such as a geforce2. a little investment will pave a way for much easier convienance and less problems for you.
