I´ve an HP Scanjet 5p an windows xp on my computer an when i try to dowload the driver from hp they told me that they(or microsoft) dont think to make any driver for the 5p under xp. Can anibody help me? Thanxxx!

Try the Windows 2000 driver if there is one. If HP isn't going to write XP drivers and the 2000 drivers don't work or don't exist, you will have to get a different printer.

I got my HP Scanjet 5p scanner to work with Windows XP and the SCSI card that came with the scanner. Use the SCSI Windows 2000 driver, 416w2k.zip, from this site for this card. http://www.lsilogic.com/support/support+drivers/hpdrivers.html?agree=Agree I installed Deskscan 2.9 by downloading sj166en.exe which can be found at http://www.hp.com/cgi-bin/cposupport/swdl.pl?c=sj166&i=sj166en&p=sj5ppc&n=hp+scanjet+5p+scanner+(PC+/+ISA) Unzip the files and then go to the location they were unzipped to and run Setup.exe in the DISK1 directory. I intalled the drivers and software with the scanner connected and on. I couldn't get the HP Deskscan II to work. I just used the "Scanner and Camera wizard" under START->Program Files->accessories to scan pictures. This program is also located at C:\WINDOWS\system32\wiaacmgr.exe
