HI m8,
Try this page http://www.conexant.com/cnxt/customer/md_assistance.htm
My modem stared working with the driver on this page and of course you have to ignore the annoying not signed warning

soft56 or hcf?, there are generic drivers provided by windowsxp. I think that in conexant home page you can find the "same" drivers but not tested by microsoft.

I've installed these drivers from the Connexant site but unfortunately I still have a major problem: The modem is detected and everything seems to be fine. BUT if I try to dial a number, after a while a pop-up window appears with" sorry, no dial-tone". I heard the modemclicks but that's all. I am very sure there is indeed dial-tone and the cables are connected well.

I'm having the same problem with this modem under Windows XP. Tried two different Rockwell modems, a HCF and a HSF, both initialize, hang up and then give the "No Dial Tone" Error. I've tried the Aztech and Conexant generic drivers to no avail. I also have a Lucent Venus modem which works fine, no issues. Could it be that conexant modems are particularly crap? Okay...I'm frustrated at this stage!

Same dialtone problem here. I have tried everything, from installing new drivers to new init strings. Nothing seems to work. My HCF modem should work fine according to the HCL list provided by Microsoft. I know my modem is okay, because before installing XP it was. I have tried several phone cables, but nothing works.
