How big is drive C:?

Drive C: is usually where the operating system is installed and 9.97 Gb for a system that has been in use for a while is not out of the ordinary.

Have you run the disk cleanup wizard. That can get rid of a lot of garbage.

You might try turning off system restore as that can take up a fair amount of space.

First of all you are referring to partitioned space on a hard drive. Drivers are software programs that control hardware.

I agree with StuartS that there is probably nothing wrong with you system. Cleaning up some temp files and emptying the recycle bin would help recover some space. I suggest you download Ccleaner Slim from the link below. Run the cleaner module regularly.

According to your original post you have about 1/3 of the partition capacity free. Where are you getting 4k from. If that is all you had Windows wouldn't run.
