I just got a new Maddog 6.1 surround card. I kept it in and installed the default drivers and rebooted everything worked fine. Then I installed the Drivers that came with the CD because it said to install them even if your OS already installed the default drivers. The Install worked fine and the problem came when it asked me to reboot. After the computer boots, the XP logo come and loads fine and then there is a blank screen for like 2 min and then the login screen comes.
2 min might sound less but that is a lot for me. My PC used to boot in less than 6 seconds. Now it does the same except for the blank screen before log-on.
I uninstalled the driver and reboted. No blank screen. Then I let XP install its own driver but this time the blank screen comes again. I dont understand. The only way to remove the blank screen is to remove the card. Its very annoying. Can anyone help?

You could try checking the startup tab in msconfig. When you installed from the CD, it may have put a program on that is starting with XP & slowing the bootup.
