Suddenly I cannot upload songs to my RCA Lyra RD2010 mp3 player (It was working normally for 5 months). When I open up the Musicmatch “Portable Device Manger” it does not recognize it – it just says “make sure you have the portable device attached and powered on”. When I go into the windows device manager, it states that the USB is working normally. If I go to My Computer and click on the Drive E – it states drive needs to be formatted. When I click OK to format it says Drive E cannot be formatted. I have tried to update the drivers – it says windows cannot find a better driver. I have downloaded the plug-in. Also, I cannot remove photos off my digital camera – the same thing happens – I click on Drive E and it says Drive E needs to be formatted. I am lost – is there anything I can do? If anybody could please help me, that would be greatly appreciated.

Try using system restore back to an earlier date when you know it was working. Go back at least two weeks and pick a very bold date. See if that resolves it.
