Drive not showing in My Computer

I installed a removable hard drive w/a firewire connection. It shows up under Disk Manager and let me partition and format the drive. If I right click on it, I can open Explorer and the drive shows up there. It even let me copy files from the C: drive to it. However, if I go into My Computer or access Explorer not through Disk Manager, the drive won't show up. I can't figure out why.
