Drive 5 Not Found

My friend installed a new 150 G. Hard Drive and has everything working well with the exception of the CD-ROM. DVD works but I can't figure out how to get the setup right to recognize the CDRW. The eroor messahe at start up is as follows: Drive 5 not found: Parallel ATA, PATA-1 (PRI IDE Slave) Press F1 to continue F2 to enter setup.
Please advise.

Usually you only get two ide channels in a system which means a max of 4 drives.

You might want to review and post how each drive is configured [150gig on ide channel 0 as master, 40gig on ide channel 0 as slave..etc]

Imagine the power if you knew how to internet search

Try replacing the existing CDROM with one that is known to work if you have one,without changing any settings and see what turns out.
