Hello! I'm having the weirest trouble. When I try to get into Control Panel and a lot of things in my Start menu the computer freezes up. It then comes up with an error message of "Dr Watson Postmortem Debugger" has encountered an error, blah-blah-blah. I don't even know what the heck that is to be honest with you. Do I need it and can I get rid of it? It's driving me buggy!! Any help you could give would be great.
Thanks!!

Doing a search at Microsoft comes up with no KnowledgeBase articles that have Dr Watson Postmortem Debugger in them.
Try this to isolate the cause:
How
to Perform a Clean Boot in Windows XP
To help troubleshoot error messages or other
issues when you cannot determine the cause of
the issue, disable common startup programs,
settings, and drivers to eliminate possible
software conflicts when you start Microsoft
Windows XP. This procedure is known as
"clean booting."
(Can be done by way of Windows Safe-Mode,
logon as Administrator,
but where it says RESTART, restart into normal
Windows.)
How to perform advanced clean-boot troubleshooting in Windows XP
and that one is a heavy duty article.Print the articles for reference.

Dr. Watson is a legit Window utility or program used by Tech people to troubleshoot problems. I am not sure about your message though. In Windows HELP, click Index, then type:
dr. watson
Below that, double click an item for reading.
