I ran Auto Fix and scan for attempt to recover bad sectors just tools I ran when doing disk cleanup, when it got done rebooting and did its thing, this is what showed up>>>>>>>>>>>>>..

Windows replaced Bad Clusters in file 9093 of name \DOCUME`1-ALLUSE`\MIRCROS`1\DRWTS`1\drwtsn32.log,

When I go to this log first off its 4.1 gb and log is 43 mb,
CAN I DELETE THE LOG AND WILL IT CREATE ANOTHER ONE...AND the funny thing is I RAN IT AGAIN TO SEE IF IT CORRECTED IT AND IT SAID THE SAME THING....How can I get rid of this watson thing, it does me no good because you can't read it its too big to open with pad so if it reports problems, how can you see the problems? I have a few problems and trying to solve one at a time and this one just keeps growing.

You can delete the log file.
I've never seen a dr. watson file that big tho.
You should have lots of small ones.
I've also never seen dr. watson on xp, just 98

Interesting about Dr. Watson

In Windows HELP, click Index, then type:

Dr watson

Lots of information.
I have found my LOG file.

I have found that your file is so BIG because DR. Watson may be set to APPEND TO EXSISTING LOG FILE.
My log file has several additions in it.

Well then I will delete the log file.

1. What do you think of the clusters in 9093 being replace each time.

2. And what good it it, you can't read it, so what is it for?

You CAN read the log if you keep it small.
You need to uncheck the -APPEND TO EXISTING LOG FILE- option.

Dr. Watson detects information about system and program failures and records the information in a log file. In the event of a program error, Dr. Watson starts automatically.

Dr. Watson cannot prevent errors from occurring, but the information recorded in the log file can be used by technical support personnel to diagnose the problem.

Thank you, I will check my settings on that, I tried to open it but it said it was too large, I never set settings at anything?, but I will check it and be sure to look at it and keep it small. I bet I have stuff on there from day 1, 43 mb is pretty big. I kept reading how helpful this file was yet couldn't figure out how because I could not look at it. Thanks Again

I'm using XP and I have Dr. Watson. My log's 9 942KB and 1 872 pages long!

Is there a website to go to decipher what's there and how to fix what's wrong?

When I uncheck the append to log, will it overwrite now or can I safely delete the text previous to the last log entry?

TIA
Teesa

My advice to both of you is to uncheck all the drwtsn32.exe options and delete all the logs.
Dr watson is a tech tool, but my experience is that most techs do not use or know how to make use of the logs anyway.
Be done with it and don't waste anymore time with it.
