I presently have service pack 1 on my PC but I want to apply SP2.

Just guide me if i have to directly install sp2 or I have to format the computer totally ?
The SP2 setup is available at the microsoft website but can I directly install it or I first have to remove SP1 ?

And for future needs.. perhaps rather than accept the usual default - install on-line - opt to download the whole folder....; save to optical media and you have it for future use. Install it from that optical media... Similarly with sp-3 etc...

"I presently have service pack 1 on my PC but I want to apply SP2"

Is there any particular reason why you want to install SP2 rather than SP3?

I think, if you only have service pack 1, you need 1a before you can install sp 3

But I could be wrong.

There were a few issues with the early release/edition of sp-3? I think they mostly affected AMD processsors? But a few folks did have minor regrets with sp-3 To date I think they have been mostly resolved?
