Hi, I have been pretty good up to now on getting rid of most unwanted annomolies on my systems but my friends has got this pesky Downloader small.9.AI and although it gets picked up by AVG it can't get rid of it into the Virus vault and although its in the System 32 file it keeps coming back with different file names. I thought I could remove mannually but there arre just too many and they keep chaning.

I have used Spyware removal as well as vcleener and even renamed the file vcleener just incase it saw it as trying to remove and stops the reomoaval process but its still there.

Hijackthis produced this report but I'm really not sure what I'm needing to change. Can anyone help me by taking a look.

Oh whilst here I went to the Hijackthis Analyser and it gave a large runout of things nast and not needed but no mention of what I need to do to adkjust it all. The report did'nt look good either??
Any Ideas anyone as to what I can do???

Baz

Hi Baz

lets try this:
disable your system restore to flush out your restore folder of the trojan.
get your latest anti-virus, anti-trojan, adaware, spybot defs.
reboot to safe mode, scan with all these, and delete all files they come up with.
clean your cache, temp files, history and cookie folder, and recycle bin.
now do a search and see if you can find the trojan server if found delete it.
reboot to normal mode, do a search again for that file, if found delete it.
re enable your system restore.
all the best, Wiz

P.S. Best To try and Avoid playing with Hijack This programming and using their methods unless you do a complete backup of your system and are prepared to toy with removing things from the registry . Just some sound advice.
