Was there some type of special driver for the mouse? If so, you may have to reinstall it...

Did you restart Windows after the SP2 install?

Is it wireless?

If PS2 or USB just go to Control Panel and select mouse. From there you should get it working. If need be, start in Safe Mode to set it up.

There wasn't any software with the mouse. I also tried a plug in mouse and it wouldn't work. Do you think purchasing a mouse with driver software would work?

Why did you just install SP2? It's old news. You should have installed SP3.

As for the mouse, no special software or drivers are usually required. It would help to post the make/model of the mouse though. If there are any drivers, you can download them at the mouse manufacturers website

T-R-A (Post #3),
I had a severe stroke three years ago. Right side was totally paralyzed. Two months in the hospital and daily therapy enabled me to get back 80% use. However my reading/writing skills didn't far as well, it's a chore now. So I don't contribute to the forums like I used to.
Cheers
