What is the "Downloaded Program files"folder under the windows directory also the "Downloaded Instillations" folder. Is that something that can be deleted.??

Certain Active X programs such as Shockwave Flash get installed in there and I have also had a Windows updater in there as well. There will also be hidden files to these as well such as .inf and .osd for Java if Shockwave is installed and also it's desktop.ini file [system]. It's been apart of Windows OS's since at least Win95.
I didn't like it's long name so I changed it [via the Registry] and it still functioned.
If you delete it, it may come back with or without it's contents upon a reboot. Basically, it's a system folder that you may or may not need [or want]. Leave it be.
