Downgrade from service pack 2

I'm not surprised you don't like SP2. Its still in Beta testing stage and consequently is probably still full of bugs.
If restore doesn't work your only other option is a repair install. This will remove both SP1 and SP2 so SP1 will have to be-reinstalled.

Dont know if you can uninstall SP2 having never installed it. There is no option to unistall SP1 in Add/Remove. If there is for SP2 then at least you can try it.
