hi all,
don't ask me how i did it, but i accidently doubled the height of my Taskbar and now i can't get it back to default :(http://i31.tinypic.com/2w2o36f.jpg
the Quick Launch icon Shortcuts are now horizontal along the Taskbar, instead of (the default) vertical up from the ">>" on the Taskbar.
have tried left-clicking mouse on top edge of Taskbar and dragging it down but it doesn't moove, i even tried rebooting !
the Taskbar is not "Locked".
how do i get it back to default ?

Grrrr
wat do I know?
... got brain freeze

hi,
thanks for the Link. Quote from that >>> "on the desktop from horizontally down side to vertical to right hand side."nup, not my problem or answer.
i can actually move the WHOLE Taskbar to the right or left of the screen vertically.....no probs.
but my prob is the picture you see >>>>> i want it positioned horizontally across the bottom of the screen (default) as it is now BUT not DOUBLE the height ! Now the Taskbar is 50 pixels HIGH and i want it at the default of about 25 pixels high.
i've been using Window$ for 12 years, and fer the life of me i can't resolve this problem LOL

That has me confused. I might not understand your problem, but have you tried a System Restore?

here as a pic of the standard default Taskbar in WinXP
http://i30.tinypic.com/2hfouuh.jpg
ok, that's what i HAD -----> the same height of the Taskbar (about 25 pixels in height) BUT that is NOW double the height at about 50 pixels high (see my pic in fist post). I want it back to the height of 25 pixels high in the pic in THIS post.
Also, see the Quick Launch ">>" with the curser pointing at it in the default Taskbar in the pic in THIS post ? well THAT's what i HAD (the default). click on the that default ">>" and the Shortcuts go vertically from the ">>". That's the default, that's what i am trying to get back to LOL ! BUT my Quick Launch Shortcut icons are actually ON the Taskbar HORIZONTALLY from left tp right, starting at the Start Button.
EDIT: System Restore ? i would like to avoid that, and just do a quick fix with the prob i have.
we'll get there LOL.....

First, right-click somewhere on the empty taskbar and make sure "lock the taskbar" is unchecked.
Second, take the tiny grey vertical bar to the left of the quick-launch, and drag it directly down until the vertical bars for both the quick-launch and the rest of the taskbar are level (they should both stretch the entire height of the taskbar).
Now, right-click the task-bar again and make sure "lock the taskbar" is checked, so that you don't accidentally do this again :)BlueRaja.admin@gmail.com

hi,
yep, yes i've got it back to the way i want it, at the default now. and your suggestion about getting the "vertical bars" horizontally level is correct. BUT my "bottom vertical bar"(actually, its my "righthand vertical bar" is below the left one .....see the pic in my first post) wouldn't (initially) move from the bottom to >>> horizontally opposite the left one on the top,(anyone confused yet LOL)
because i had too many Quick Launch shortcuts for one "left to right Taskbar length. Another "Taskbar" was created (doubling the overall height of the Taskbar) to facilitate the remaining shortcuts.
so what i did was mouse-dragged (moved) about 5 shortcuts onto the actual Desktop, and that then allowed me to close up the gap on those 2 vertical bars, which produced the default Quick Launch ">>". Then i just simply dropped the 5 shortcut icons from the Desktop onto the ">>". VOILA ! back to normal LOL
thanks very much for your all your help there ppl.
here's a pic >>>
