DOSX.EXE error message

Went from 98SE to XP and having problems (who would have guessed). Keep getting error message: "The Win16 Subsystem was unable to enter Protected Mode, DOSX.exe must be in your AUTOEXEC.NT and present in your PATH." But it is in my Autoexec.nt file--any clues as to what's wrong? What are the best settings for the EMM line in Config.nt and the proper configuration for the Autoexec.nt?? Any on-line info on this? Thanks.
I just fixed this problem on another pc at work here. The WIN16 subsystem was corrupt. I had to replace wowexec.exe, himem.sys, dosx.exe, autoexec.nt, config.nt, and _default.pif
