Help, I receive the following error message when trying to install Quicken 2001 Deluxe, Quicken 2002 Deluxe, and WinMX: The Win16 Subsystem was unable to enter Protected Mode, DOSX.exe must be in your AUTOEXEC.NT and present in your PATH.
DOSX is in my path and AUTOEXEC.NT. I am also loading HIMEM.SYS in my CONFIG.NT file. The _default.pif file as well as my command.pif & cmd.pif file are all setup to use both the AUTOEXEC.NT and CONFIG.NT files. The pif files are also setup to use XMS memory. If I go to a command prompt, however, and type 'mem /program' it shows that I have no XMS memory allocated.

Check if WINDOWS directory and its subdirectories don't have attributes set to read only/hidden/system. If so, try to set them off. It should work (or it worked for me).
