DOS Rename files except with .eps extension

Specs: Windows XP
Hi All,

I have a folder with a large number of files that have come from a MAC system.
All of the files are .eps files, but due to MAC specifications many are missing the file extension.

If I manually rename the files, I do not have any trouble opening them.

What I need to do is add ".eps" to all files in the folder that do not finish on .eps.

All help appreciated.

Dear Tony,

.eps file is a postscript file, it may contain 2d vector and bitmap images or may be text also. so try to rename single file or check the file attributes.

thanks ganesank,

All the .eps images are image files.

I have output a list of all files in the folder and, and am isolating those that go not have the .eps extensions. I will move these to another folder, and plan to batch rename them to add .eps to each file:

ren * *.eps

Im sure that there is a better way of doing this, but I'm totally green.

I imagine that it is possible to rename all files in a folder like the command above, but to exclude files that end in .eps and .jpg?
