Which DOS command would you most likely use to verify a connection to a server?

ping will verify basic network connectivity. I.e., that the server can be "reached" over the network.

What kind of connection are you trying to verify?

Ping is really a poor choice for real world. Servers are unlikely to have ICMP enabled anymore.


I'm too old for school. They said something like not letting a dirty old man like me in ever again.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
