Help..... trying to get to hard drive from DOS to recover some files, I have DOS 6.22... Doesn't see Hard drive (I have dual 60G's in an array)....Get "Invalid drive specification" msg.
I really, really NEED this data...(It's for my classes at school)....The HD crashed and the only options I am aware of include re-establishing O/S BUT I will lose all data. I will have to slit my little throat if I lose this stuff.....

Which HDD crashed and what sort of ARRAY? Are we talking a RAID 1 ARRAY? Or something else. Need just a little more info please. Also. What sort of error message did you get that leads you to believe the HDD is toast. Also if a HDD is not seen in BIOS then it really is toast, or a bad connection. If it sees it and says something is wrong then you may be in luck.

dos 6.22 is limited to 2.1 gigabytes. you should be able to access them using a windows 98 or me bootdisk, image available at www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm

Do you have dual boot machine? as above, if you have a bootdisk, you'd be able to get the files off from a command prompt.
