I have win 98 running on another computer and the Dac EZ program works fine, in XP the programs attempts to write to disk, access the disk directly, and i get an error message advising this, I've used the compat. wizard and get the same result when it backs data up any work around ?

it could be the programs you are using have been trying to access "system infomation volume" or something similar. because it is Xp, info in that folder is not allowed to be read or edited by any other program apart from windows itself. you probably can get around by using the calc command in command prompt by editing the right over accessing that folder. it might not work. nb, i never tried to back my system before.
All the things I've written above can be complete nonsense.
