Using Ghost 2002 (needs to run from DOS boot). Need to create DOS startup disks for XP (pro, home). Supposedly, 2002 can run under XP. Does anyone know how to create DOS startup disks so I can boot into DOS while on XP?

Thanks muchly,

When formatting a disk there should be an option stating "create an ms-dos startup disk". I never tried one of those, so you might want to test it before doing any terminal changes to your system (and i speak of experience).

As swapeeters says, you can create a DOS boot floppy from XP itself just the same as in 9x.

Right click A:
Format
Create an MS-DOS startup disk

Why dont you just format a floppy disc and use the option to copy system files as well, then copy ghostpe.exe to it. Create an autoexec.bat file containing the words GHOSTPE.exe only and then when you boot from it ghost will run automatically. You can use all the images etc from the c: drive etc. We use this method all the time.

I have Ghost2002 installed on a 98se machine but I would think the program itself should work the same on XP. When you make a ghost disk, just don't choose to make it a dos disk. Ghost by default makes a PC-DOS bootable disk.
