About 2 months back, I replaced my SMPS. I have 5 HDD's (Which is keep shuffling as per my requirements). Strangely, every single day, my HDD's are screwing up. My 80 Gigs Maxtor & 60 Gigs Seagate, suddenly failed. Now, another of my 80 Gigs & Samsung 40 Gigs are ready for failure. Can an SMPS cause any damage to the HDD? Thanks!!

Not only can a SMPS (switching mode power supply) be used to provide a constant source of regulated power source it is used to either lower the voltage OR RAISE the voltage.
So any time the voltage is increased in the use of a HDD then there is a strong possibility that you can damage them.
