Does the 'Net Users' command show hidden users as well? What does if that doesn't?
Just a question...

The NET USE command allows for a wildcard when connecting to drive letters.

For example: net use * \\prod\release

The system responds by selecting the next available drive letter available for the NET USE.

For example: Drive I: is now connected to \\PROD\RELEASE
