Documents and settings location

CPU/Ram: 2 gb / 512ram

I need to know how i can move documents and settings folder to drive d: (for example). It's posible to make this during the instalation from cd with unattended?..i need to make changes in the registry.... Thanks

Why do u want to move D&S to ur D drive ??

All you need to do is drag and drop the 'MY Documents' icon to the new location.

XP does the registry changes for you.

Make sure you move the folder attached to your user account though, have made the mistake previously of moving the wrong one, Duh.

Thanks for replay and sorry my bad english...

i want to move D&S....I used to have 2 partitios at last.. C: and D: it's more easy for me formar unit C: and save all my configurations in d:. this is the reason...

Ok, It's not possible to install XP assigning D&S to a diff partition.

Most settings are stored in the registry, so ur idea wouldn't work anyway.

You can always save ur Documents, Favourites, Start Menu folders from D&S (also ur Address Book & emails) and copy them back after re-installing (tho some of ur apps in the start menu will need to be re-installed as they make entries in the registry).
