Do I need to format my 2nd HDD

I just got a new computer with windows xp, and installed my my old hard drive from win98 int the new computer as a slave. do I need to format my old drive or can I leave it as is? Should I transfer all my old files then format the old drive and then transfer them back? thanks for the help

If you want to keep the files on the old disk as they are there is no need to format the disk. The disk will be formatted to Fat32 which is fine for Windows XP.
