Howdy,
After installing the November M/S updates I got to nosing around in Belarc Advisor and discovered two updates I apparently installed on 10-20-06 although I really can't remember installing either one.
The two in question are:
(1) IDNMITIGATIONAPIS on 10/20/2006 (Microsoft Internationalized Domain Names Mitigation APIs) and
(2) NLSDOWNLEVELMAPPING on 10/20/2006 (Microsoft National Language Support Downlevel APIs)
Both are listed in Belarc under Windows: SP1
For the record I am running a Compaq Presario AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3300+, 2411MHz/960 RAM, running Windows Xp Home Sp#2 while using IE7.
I have no idea what these two updates are for and after 'googling' them I am even more confused.
Do I really need them or can I get rid of them?
Thanks and regards,
Phil

You can look up which Microsoft updates you installed on the Microsoft Update web pages by looking at your update history.
You are most likely to get relevant info about them by searching the Microsoft site itself with the titles or descriptions.

Hi Tubesandwires,
Thanks for the follow-up and recommendation.
After posting initially I realized these two updates were installed at the same time as when I installed IE7 so most likely they are connected somehow.
Thanks and regards,
Phil
