dns unable to resolve ip address

when ever i connect to the internet i get a cannot find server message and when i try to sign in to messenger i get an error that says "your DNS is unable to resolve your IP Address." can anyone help thanks

What kind of network connection do you have? Did you change any settings? Have you rebooted your computer and/or flushed DNS?

You could ask your ISP for help, or change your Dial-up connection phone number.

I think Chuck 2 said it best. It is probably that phone number. They may have changed it or taken that number out of circulation. I know in Cleveland SBS had changed their numbers a lot.

did you remove any spyware before this problem started? If so, you may want to try winsockfix: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4... See if that gets you going.

I haven't needed to use the winsockfix for ages, but still keep it in my toolbox. Download and run this simple, non-destructive tool and it might just solve your problem. If not, you can still keep it as part of your arsenal of PC tools.
