Hi , Its a general question. its related to DNS. you should be knowing DNS. i know what it is and ow it works. But where is that DNS located. where is the server located to convert the domain name to IP address.

There isn't just one there are many. Every ISP maintains there own DNS. If it cannot find the required entry there, it looks on another DNS which is dependant on the top level suffix. i.e. .co.uk, .com, .edu etc.
All these DNS obtain their information from a central DNS located somewhere in the USA, its exact location a closely guarded secret.
So really all you need to know is the address of your ISPs DNS. All the others are queried automatically as required.
