sorry...i meant to enquire about "dat" files,
not "dll" files,are "dat" files safe to delete??

It depends. What DAT files are you referring to? Software developers use that extension for a wide range of uses - it could have program data, or a module, or user's settings stored in it. You really need to be more specific.
