I have downloaded a few movies from file sharing programs. I just downloaded blade 2. It is in DIVX format. When I try to play it in Media player, I only get the animations as if I were listining to music. It claims to be the full movie. Did I download a bogus file or do I need to add a codec to media player?

If it's in divx, you might need to use a divx player. What is the filename (ie: file extension)? What is the file size?

I didn't even know blade 2 was out yet? Movies that end in divx.avi are usually around 700 MB

You can download the free Divx 5.02 here:

Once it's installed, you can use the player included with the program, or Media Player will be able to play the movies too because the codec will be installed on the system.

DOWNLOAD DIVX AND THAT'S IT. WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER DOESNT SUPPORT DIVX. YOU NEED TO INSTALL IT AND AUTOMATICALLY WILL INSTALL IT TO WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER. GOOD LUCK
